I have tried many banana bread recipes but this is my favorite! Always comes out perfect, I sometimes switch the flax meal with hazelnut meal and use hazelnuts instead of walnuts for a different flavor. Then add chocolate chips when I want some extra sweetness. Love this recipe!

Yes! The Hazelnut substitution sounds genius. So glad you liked this recipe.

Can the walnuts be eliminated, or ground up relatively fine instead of chopped?

Yes, you can skip walnuts altogether. Or you can use finely chopped walnuts.
